Hello

I am so glad that you have chosen to read my blog! The inspiration for the title comes from Psalms 84:3-4 where it says, "Even a sparrow finds a home and a swallow, a nest for herself where she places her young near your alters, Lord of Armies, my King and my God. How happy are those who reside in your home."

Coming to a new city where I knew no one caused me to begin to long for "home" like never before. In this longing, I found that the ultimate place I desire to rest is in the Lord. I hope to create a space where you can bring your longings and land in the Lord's nest of comfort.  I am still on the journey of building my nest in Him and I am excited to invite you along as well.

My Story

I grew up in a small country home located in Madisonville, Tennessee. I met God when I was just five years old and was blessed to be baptized by both of my late grandfathers. I grew up taking picnics to the creek with my Mamaw and cousins and spending the weekends swimming in the river or hiking in the Tellico Mountains. I loved my family and my home and never dreamed of living anywhere else. But God had different plans!

In July of 2020, I applied to Dallas Theological Seminary to obtain an online Masters degree in Christian Leadership. At this time I was working as a Youth Director at a small church in Etowah, Tennessee and I hoped that this degree would help me to be more equipped with this role. Without my knowledge, DTS sent my application to Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas that had a residency program partnering with the degree that I applied for. I received a phone call and was offered a position at the church, coverage of my tuition, a new computer, a monthly stipend, and help finding housing. The next thing I knew, I was moving to Fort Worth, Texas!

I have now finished my residency degree program and am continuing to live in Fort Worth. The experience and education that I have received has challenged and grown me in unimaginable ways, and I am excited to begin sharing it with you throughout these pages.

see you soon
